Ebook Review: A Dozen Tips to Help Your Family Thrive In the Digital Age By Devorah Heitner, PhD, founder Raising Digital Natives
As a parent of a toddler and a social media consultant. I’m often wondering what awaits me when my child gets older and starts experimenting with digital technology. In anticipation, I’ve decided to learn more about the topic and perhaps offer tips to my clients about it.
I recently heard in the Working Motherhood podcast a discussion between the host and Devorah Heitner, PhD, founder and director of Raising Digital Natives, in relation to “Limiting kids’ digital media exposure.”
I couldn’t stop nodding about what was discussed about digital media exposure. I visited her website and signed up for her insights and received her free ebook: “A Dozen Tips to Help Your Family Thrive In the Digital Age.” (I read it immediately, it took about 20 minutes because I clicked on several of the links within the ebook)
Here’s what I learned:
- Practical tips on sharing on Social Media for families and using a Sharing Policy
- Creativity & using “Unplugged Zones”
- Mentor vs. Monitor
- Resources to stay digitally informed
- How to be “present” with others (that’s a struggle for everyone, it seems)
- Much more!
