Starting Over at 40: What Rebuilding My Business in Pennsylvania Taught Me

After more than 14 years in business, I moved to Pennsylvania at 40 and suddenly became the new girl again.

New roads. New networking rooms. New relationships. And yes, a whole lot of parallel parking I wasn’t prepared for.

But I quickly learned something important: starting over doesn’t mean starting from zero.

Here’s what starting over in Pennsylvania taught me about visibility, relationships, community, and trusting the experience you’ve already earned.

Right before my birthday, the revised edition of Superwoman Smarts was published, and I had the opportunity to write about this chapter of my life myself. Years ago, author Yevette Lynn featured me as a young entrepreneur figuring out how to build a business. This time, I got to share what happened when that entrepreneur had to build her professional reputation all over again.

Ready to Become More Visible?

Starting over reminded me that visibility isn’t about being everywhere. It’s about intentionally showing up, building relationships, and helping the right people understand what you bring to the table.

That’s exactly what I help business owners, professionals, and organizations do through LinkedIn, Instagram, relationship-driven marketing, and practical AI strategies.

And if you’d like to read more of my story, you can find my chapter in the newly revised edition of Superwoman Smarts by Yevette Lynn.
