Why Using Professional Visuals Are Valuable To Your Storytelling

I discovered probably the best business group locally. I know it is a big statement to make after attending various business groups in my over six years in business in the region. This group has taught me storytelling with the use of a camera. It’s hard to stand out in Social Media without a good story!

Back to this group. It’s called Tuesdays Together. It’s actually a local group of the national Rising Tide Community. In it, I’m with other entrepreneurs and sometimes feels like 90% of them are in the wedding business and mostly photographers. There is a cake decorator, florist, and other professionals related to what a Bride might need. Stay tuned to read what you can do to tell your story as a business owner.

Relevancy

Once a month I attend meetings and there is usually a speaker focusing on relevant topics that a small business owner might be interested in such as SEO, blogging, storytelling, lead nurturing and even social media (I was asked to speak last Fall).

Did I mention this is a Free group! I try not to miss a meeting. I even brought my kids to the last meeting when I couldn’t secure a sitter because I find such value in attending the discussions with the speaker and the examples of how photography is used to tell a story. This is very useful if you use social media as business owners, keep reading to learn why.

When there isn’t a monthly meeting with a speaker, we’re discussing what tools we are currently using to excel in our business. My first meeting topic last June was “client experience”, it was such a delight to hear what these professionals use to enhance their experiences with clients. Beyond what I do with sending handwritten thank you notes and truffles with my logo on them.

Befriending all these photographers and seeing their stunning photography made me wonder how to use their services to really explain the story of a business. Did you know that “…visual content is more than 40 times more likely to get shared on social media than other types of content.” Source: Forbes

ROI

For example, if you are interested in being featured in the media and local press. There is an exceptional AND tangible example from Huffington Post where someone saved 8 hours and about $250 from having to do professional hair and makeup by having a selection of paid professional library of pictures ready to deliver to a publication.

In addition to the example mentioned above from Huffington Post,  there are qualifiable venues to share your professional photography such as landing pages where it may lead to better conversion rates and “posts that include an image receive 120% – 180% more visibility and engagement.”

For you LinkedIn Users

Conclusion

There is a value to having professionally made pictures. You might want to play with natural lighting and keep your background simple, read this article for more tips about Product Photography if you are working producing the pictures yourself. If it is winter time or you have great wrapping paper you should check this article out from Sue B Zimmerman. In addition, I really encourage watching her fun video with description different ideas too!

Bonus tip:

If you have a brick & mortar location (there are a lot of you reading this) consider adding the amount of Facebook Likes or most Pinned items onto your products in the story. You can find more examples to use your Social Media to Boost In-Store Sales from Social Media Today.
